Background:
Harold was born and raised in Saskatchewan, and Carol was born and raised in Alberta. They met through their work in Ottawa and they were married in Edmonton in 1964.
Theological/Professional Education:
Harold studied at the University of Saskatchewan; he became a Chartered Accountant in 1961. He recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Christian Ministry from Prairie Distance Education.
Ministry Experience:
Harold became a Christian while attending university, but it wasn’t until he moved to Ottawa a few years later and started attending the Metropolitan Bible Church that he really started to grow in his faith. Since late 1966 Harold was an active leader in the Met’s CSB ministry, serving in all positions of leadership.
For more than 20 years he served on the Board of the Met (church in Ottawa). He retired in 1992 from the federal civil service after more than 30 years, most as a senior financial officer. Less than a month after his retirement, he was called to serve as a regional representative for CSB. In 1997, he became President of CSB Canada. For more than 30 years Harold has been a leader at Camp Kakeka.
Carol became a Christian in her teens. After she and Harold were married, she devoted herself to raising their children, while serving as a Sunday School teacher, as a Pioneer Girls leader, and as a member of Met committees. She travels with Harold to various churches, encouraging local CSB leaders and their wives.
Children:
Harold and Carol have four sons, two of whom are Heralds of Christ. Chris lives in Toronto, David (married to Michelle) lives in Flower Mound, Texas. Brad (married to Angela) lives in Halifax. Doug (married to Carla) lives in Windsor. They have six grand-children.
